Comparison of social policy in relation to informal caregivers of the elderly in the Czech and Slovak Republics
Rizikyová, Tímea ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Čampulková, Jitka (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of social policies in relation to informal caregivers of seniors in two countries - the Czech and Slovak Republics. At the beginning, the author brings a current view of the aging population, with which the demand for long- term care is constantly increasing. The author further focuses mainly on the description and subsequent comparison of policy design in relation to family carers in both republics, while looking at the whole issue by applying the theoretical concept of social constructions of target populations. The author identified and placed great emphasis on two target populations, namely the informal carers and the seniors who are dependent on care. Both target populations have a certain political power and social construct in the compared countries, which further influences their position in society. With the help of expert interviews, the author also identifies several problem areas that informal carers struggle with on the basis of the current setting of social policies in both countries.
